Nothing and Everything

I have a lot I could talk about but I'm having a busy sort of day and have a thousand and one more things to accomplish in a few short days before we leave for five glorious days and nights of relaxation here in beautiful Wisconsin Dells.

Click the link and tell me you can't see why I'm totally freaking excited. Click it. Click iiiiit! :)

I expect there will be stories galore once I'm back, but damn do I have a lot to do in the meantime. And NONE of this prep work business is fun. None of it. But the vacation time? So. Much. WIN!

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this. Why would you ask? ;)

In the "other things that have made me happy" file, I went on a CD binge with some of my Christmas cash, and made a few excellent investments. I got "Rockferry" by Duffy, "The Story" by Brandi carlile and "19" by Adele. All are fantastic and make my ears dance a merry little jig.

Here, have a listen to some of the songs:

First, we have "Mercy" by Duffy:

I covet those red high heels. Hurry up and melt, snow!

Second, we have "Turpentine" by Brandi Carlile:

Such a sad and pretty song. I had a brutal breakup with a (now former, obviously) friend last year, and my first and foremost thought when things ended was "I'm outgrowing the way things used to be". The words to this song say exactly what I was feeling at the time and they help me remember how things were before and help me to remember the good times with fondness.

Wow, that was deep.

And finally, we have "To Make You Feel My Love" from Adele.

Garth Brooks should freaking bow before her, because THIS is what the song should sound like. Damn, but she can sing.

I'm also totally in love with the fact that she isn't a stick figure. Is that wrong?

3 cool kids gave me some sugah:

The Dells will be a blast and I'm totally with you on loving Adele for not being a stick figure, I have her CD and Duffy! I came to love Duffy waaay back when I saw her on a British talk show and we've visited her hometown in Wales too! :)
